One of the things I need to “retire early” is enough income to save for it on, and so I’ve been, “investing in myself.” Study-study-study! Last year, I obtained two certificates in Management including one in Akamai Management Academy just to stay sharp, and a certificate in KCS Level 1, which is a type of knowledge-management workflow certificate. This month, I passed the CISSP test (I already had a GSEC, an MCSE and 8 other certificates), on my way to obtaining this security industry gold-level standard. I hope all this increases my income just a little, which will help the goals.
If it doesn’t result in a raise, it adds to my peace-of-mind knowing I’m still sharp enough to take these kids of long tests and pass them, first-attempt, and at least it will keep me eminently employable, which reduces my stress 🙂
It’s also (hopefully) inspiring to my team, and they’ll start investing in themselves, too. I hope so as I want the best for them. Good luck TO YOU if you are studying for any kind of a life-improvement certificate. Hang in there, study hard. Keep pluggin’ 🙂
